Rock n Roll Bride party…
The set-up…
Kicking off the wedding season with style meant a trip to the big smoke for the Rock n Roll Bride party. I can’t imagine the preparation that goes into setting up a party like this with suppliers, guest lists, venues etc. It must be like organising a small wedding! I travelled up with Hannah from Sweet Dream Events who was the sweet table supplier du jour to the party of the year. I was therefore lucky enough to see the preparation first hand myself from suppliers, the venue staff (who were lovely) and a nervous Kat before everyone arrived.
Hannah had gone all out with her set up which included a dressing table, tallboy and display cabinet all especially painted and distressed in a charcoal grey with neon pink inlays. Guests were also able to pick their sweets and put them in a custom printed pick n mix bag with a caricature of Kat on it!
The awesomeness didn’t stop there! Hannah had commissioned some illustrations of skulls with electric blue and neon pink roses especially to match Kat’s hair!

See?! Matching! And it didn’t stop there… Along came Charlotte from Restoration Cake with the most amazing cupcakes I ever did taste…
How good do they look?! Charlotte not only made the best cake flavours (red velvet and peanut butter) but also matched the colours to Kat’s hair and the stationery designed by the talented Lucy Ledger Designs! Genius…
The party!
Once people started to arrive and the pink sparkly Rock n Roll Bride gin cocktails in paint tins made their way around the room, the networking began. I can’t tell you how strange at first it is meeting people you ‘talk’ to on twitter all the time. It’s kind of like a backwards school reunion. Will they be like their avatars? Will they be just as nice in person? Luckily for me I met some awesome people and there were a few ‘famous in the industry’ type people there that made me starstruck (and also very aware that I had arrived in jeans and heels whereas some had commissioned dresses!).
The party really got into its element and swinging when everyone started having fun in the photobooth. As it is something I am having at my own wedding, I was looking forward to seeing how guests interacted with the props etc. Rock n Roll Bride Kat requested that we all bring a prop for the photobooth so with sticky back plastic and some barbecue sticks, what’s the harm in a bit of self promotion…
I made prop sticks from my sparrow logo along with some ‘sparrow spex’. Stay tuned for images from the photobooth later today! You too can make your own sparrow – just keep your eyes peeled for a DIY post coming soon! In the meantime, head on over to Rock N Roll Bride to see what we all got up to…
I had an awesome time and met some great people (still gutted I didn’t get Johnny Depp’s photograph!) and a huge thanks to all the people who seemed genuinely interested in what I did with my little blog! You guys rock and you made the party…
Off to dream about the red velvet cupcakes…
Much love.

Looks like so much fun! Would loved to have been able to go but couldn’t this year, will definitely be hoping to go to the next one!
It was awesome and definitely apply next year if Kat does it again!
